The Great Comet of 1996
1996.03.22. Comet Hyakutake photographed by Noel Munford. 25 second exposure on Fuji Press 800 film. 50mm lens at f/2. The bright star to the left is Arcturus. The head or coma of the comet was magnitude +0 and covered 4 moon diameters. The tail was 16 degrees long in this photo, but was 35 degrees long to the naked eye.
