The Great Auroral Storm of March 31st, 2001
13.05 hrs U.T. another sub-storm bursts in to life in the south. This great storm went all night and was seen as far north as Hokianga Harbour. It went on so long that it almost kept going long enough for us to see it the next night! This is probably the most observed aurora in N.Z. history as 80% of the country had clear sky!
